NEW DELHI: Union home minister Amit Shah on Friday slammed the DMK government, alleging that they are using the delimitation and three-language policy is to divert the public from the main issue as the state election is coming soon. He also said that the BJP respects and takes pride in Tamil language, culture and people.
While addressing the presser, Amit Shah said that AIADMK and Bharatiya Janata Party will contest the upcoming Vidhan Sabha elections in Tamil Nadu together in 2025 under the leadership of Edappadi K Palaniswami.
"AIADMK and BJP leaders have decided that AIADMK, BJP and all the alliance parties will contest the upcoming Vidhan Sabha elections in Tamil Nadu together as NDA," Shah said.
He also said that in the upcoming Tamil Nadu elections, the people will vote on DMK's corruption, law and order issues, atrocities on Dalits and women.
"They (DMK and opposition parties) are raising the issues of delimitation and NEET to distract the people... We will sit with AIADMK (since their stand on these issues is different from the BJP-led NDA) and discuss with them on these issues and if needed, there will be a common minimum programme."

"The BJP respects and takes pride in Tamil language, culture and people," Amit Shah said.

"In the upcoming Tamil Nadu elections, the people will vote on DMK's corruption, law and order issues, atrocities on Dalits and women... DMK government did a liquor scam of rs. 39,000 crore, sand mining scam, energy scam, ELCOT scam, transport scam, money laundering scam,... There are a lot of other scams about which the DMK should answer to the people of Tamil Nadu... The people of Tamil Nadu are seeking answers from Udhayanidhi and Stalin..."
On AIADMK's divergent stand on certain issues, Shah said will sit and discuss. There will be a Common Minimum Programme if required.
People were demanding answers from the ruling dispensation over a number of 'scams,' and they would vote on genuine issues, Shah slammed DMK.
