Venkatesh Daggubati's latest film 'Sankranthiki Vasthunnam' turned out to be a blocbuster at the box office. The family entertainer, which was released during the Sankranti festival window became one of the biggest openers during the festive season. Now, Victory Venkatesh shared plans for the sequel of the film.
According to a report by 123Telugu, during the success meet of 'Sankranthiki Vasthunnam,' Venkatesh surprised fans by announcing that he would return with a sequel in 2027, looking for a Pongal release. This announcement was met with enthusiastic applause from the audience, indicating strong anticipation for the continuation of the story.

'Sankranthiki Vasthunnam,' directed by Anil Ravipudi stars Venkatesh alongside Aishwarya Rajesh and Meenakshii Chaudhary. The movie has been praised for its engaging storyline and its appeal to family audiences.

The film has enjoyed a successful run at the box office, earning Rs 161 crore in its first five days. After 28 days, the film has earned an estimated Rs 181 crore net in India.

The distributors of 'Sankranthiki Vasthunam' celebrated its success at a special gratitude meeting. Producer Dil Raju highlighted the importance of strong storytelling over big budgets and star power. He credited director Anil Ravipudi for the film's efficient completion and success, drawing lessons from past failures.

Sankranthiki Vasthunnam grossed Rs 23 crore on its opening day, followed by Rs 20 crore on Day 2 and Rs 17.5 crore on Day 3. In its first week, the movie grossed Rs 122.35 crore. Interestingly, 'Sankranthiki Vasthunam' had an overall 12.22% Telugu Occupancy on its 28th day, February 10, 2025.

Director Anil Ravipudi had hinted at the possibility of a sequel in previous interviews, noting that there was ample scope to continue the story. With Venkatesh's official announcement, the sequel is now confirmed, and fans are eager to learn more about the project, including which actors will join the cast.
