Roki Sasaki and LeBron James shared laughs before Lakers vs Wizards
On Monday, the Los Angeles Lakers faced the Washington Wizards at Crypto.com Arena, Los Angeles. Los Angeles Dodgers rookie Roki Sasaki enjoyed the game from the front seat. Before the game began, Sasaki was spotted sharing a wholesome moment with the Lakers' legend LeBron James.
In the moment going viral on social media, LeBron James can be seen walking to Roki Sasaki and sharing a quick interaction with the Dodgers star. While the conversation wasn't clearly audible, it lasted a couple of seconds before James got back to the court to practice his shots for the games.
For the Los Angeles Lakers vs Washington Wizards, Roki Sasaki opted for a classic yet stylish outfit. The Dodgers star wore a black T-shirt over a black bomber jacket, which he paired with grey jeans and white Nike dunk Jordans.
Before his appearance at Lakers vs Wizards, Roki Sasaki made headlines when MLB analyst Tom Verducci highlighted his comparison with Paul Skenes. Verducci explained why Sasaki isn't a "finished product", however, his abilities are just as good as the Pittsburgh Pirates star. Comparing the two, Verducci said:
"If we put Roki [Sasaki] in a draft, he'd be a one-one. He's kind of like a Paul Skenes, he's not a finished product coming out, but pure stuff-wise, it's off the charts. If you look at the top pitching staffs of all time, I had to look this up, a couple of Dodgers teams recently [have been there]. I think the Dodgers can push this number (.208 opponent batting average)."Reacting to the Dodgers' reported additions of Roki Sasaki, Tanner Scott | Hot Stove
Tom Verducci further explained how Roki Sasaki also reminds him of Zack Wheeler. Talking about the same, he said:
"Sasaki's four-seamer was down a bit last year, which caused a little bit of concern. The split is just a wipeout pitch, he's got tremendous movement down on that. The slider is a pitch he threw a little bit more last year, not a great pitch right now. I think you'll see the Dodgers tighten that up. The mechanics are just beautiful, the guy he reminds me of is Zack Wheeler."Before the Los Angeles Dodgers signed Roki Sasaki, multiple teams tried to acquire him, including the Blue Jays. In fact, according to the latest report, the Blue Jays star Chad Green, Daulton Varsho and Bo Bichette
visited Toronto to influence Sasaki's decision to sign with the Blue Jays.
