Cannes International Series Festival is one of the biggest events and spectacles in the film industry on a global level. For this year’s prestigious event, a total of five Korean dramas have been invited for a special screening event. This makes the invite a huge accomplishment for all the show creators and actors as well.
Five K-dramas have been invited to Cannes International Series for screening
All of the five dramas that have been selected for the special screening have been praised for their storytelling and plot and have gone on to become a huge success. While K-drama ‘S Line’ is the only one that has been selected for the Feature Film Competition. The rest of the four K-dramas have been selected for the non-competitive 'Rendezvous' section. 1. ‘S Line’
This Korean drama is a mystery- and suspense-themed drama that has become extremely popular ever since its announcement. Produced by a renowned producer and director, this is a drama that was adapted from a popular webtoon of the same name. The plot follows two people who have been able to see the ‘red line’ since they were born. These red lines lead towards people someone has had relations with.
2. ‘Doubt’
‘Doubt’ is a popular psychological crime thriller starring a popular cast consisting of Han Suk Kyu, Chae Won Bin, Han Ye Ri, and Oh Yeon Soo. The show follows the story of a father and a daughter as they deal with everything after they themselves get involved in a murder case. The father works as a criminal behaviour analyst studying the crime, while his daughter has information that can be crucial to the case.
3. ‘Nursery Rhymes Ghost Stories/Children's Ghost Story’
This is a horror- and mystery-themed drama that has been elected for the rendezvous section. This is a unique drama that takes inspiration from real-life stories and hidden takes from children’s stories and presents them on screen. It presents a lyrical nursery rhyme into a suspense- and horror-filled story.
4. ‘The Hunter with a Scalpel’
Just like its’ unique name, the drama is also an interesting and odd take on the crime and thriller series genre. The drama features a serial killer and follows his story throughout the drama. What makes it so unique is the obsession that the serial killer has with surgeries, hence giving more reason to the title of the show.
5. ‘Fairy’s Fasting Centre’
This is a new fantasy-themed K-drama that follows the storyline of how a girl who aspires and wishes to be a successful singer navigates the world around her to achieve this dream. It explores the issues and challenges she faces along her journey.
