OpenAI's popular large language models, ChatGPT and Sora, are back online following a brief service disruption. The outage, which began on December 24 in the US left users unable to access these AI tools.
What the company said
The company confirmed that there was a technical glitch in the AI app which has affecting its performance. “Most of ChatGPT, the API, and Sora have been down for a couple of hours and we're sorry for the trouble this is causing,” OpenAI said in a post on X (formerly known as Twitter).
Many users rely on ChatGPT and Sora for various tasks, including creative writing, code generation, and research assistance. The outage caused inconvenience for these users, with some taking to social media to express their frustration.
