His first job was at an STD booth where he earned Rs. 10 a day. Later, he worked at a cyber café for Rs. 20. In an interview with Free Press Journal, Harshvardhan shared that between 2002 and 2004, he worked as a waiter, a courier, at an STD booth, a cyber café, and even assisted a DJ.Learning EnglishThe actor initially wasnt good in English, wanted to improve his language skills. Unable to afford coaching classes, he joined a call centre to get English training. In the same interview with Free Press Journal, the actor revealed, “That time people would say it's important to learn English. It then became my goal to learn the language. I looked around for coaching classes, but I didn't have money to pay for them. So, I joined a call centre. At call centres, they used to give training in soft skills and English."To prepare for the call centre interview, Harshvardhan worked hard by listening to radio and English news channels. He shared how important it was for him to crack the interview. “To reach the level of call centre English, I used to listen to radio. After five-six months, I cracked an interview. I jumped call centres to get the training and learn English for free; and got paid for it too! Back then, English was of utmost importance.”Furthermore, he shared that he was extremely determined to get the role. Despite arriving four months late for the audition, when the casting was already complete, he pleaded with the team to let him audition. Even though they initially told him it was pointless since the hero was already selected, after much insistence, they allowed him to audition, and his request was fulfilled by the assistant, Ravi ji.
