Former Australian cricketer David Warner is set to make his Indian cinema debut in the upcoming Telugu film 'Robinhood' starring Nithiin. Recently, the former SRH player landed in Hyderabad to participate in the grand trailer launch and pre-release of the film.
Warner was greeted with a massive bouquet and a sea of fans eager to catch a glimpse of him upon arrival. He graciously obliged, signing autographs and interacting with his admirers. This warm reception shows his popularity in India, particularly among Telugu cinema fans, who have been entertained by his viral dance videos to popular Telugu songs during the COVID-19 lockdown.

The pre-release event, held at HICC Novotel in Hyderabad, featured the launch of the film's trailer. The trailer is expected to have the film's action-packed and comedic scenes.

Directed by Venky Kudumula, 'Robinhood' is a heist comedy starring Nithiin as Honey Singh, a daring thief who steals from the rich to give to the poor. Sreeleela plays the female lead, while veteran actors like Rajendra Prasad and Vennela Kishore. The film's music is composed by G.V. Prakash Kumar.
David Warner will be playing a cameo in the film and is expected to be one of the highlights of the film. The makers took to X (formerly Twitter) to introduce Warner to the film as they wrote, "After shining and leaving a mark on the ground, it is time for him to shine on the silver screen. Director Venky Kudumula during an interview with Hindustan Times, shared that while he wrote the cameo, he always wanted it to be played by someone special. He shared about it with the actors and producers. They were very excited about the plan and went ahead with it.
