The pan-global film 'SSMB29', directed by SS Rajamouli and starring
Mahesh Babu, has been facing challenges due to unauthorized leaks from its sets. Despite efforts to maintain secrecy, clips and photos continue to surface online, causing frustration among the makers.
A recent video leak showed a crucial action sequence featuring Mahesh Babu being pushed towards a character in a wheelchair, speculated to be played by
Prithviraj Sukumaran, before being forced to kneel at gunpoint. The footage, seemingly recorded from inside a car, has sparked concern among fans.
As per a report by Pinkvilla, in response to these leaks, the production team has implemented a three-layer security system to prevent further leaks during the ongoing shoot in
Odisha.
The film is currently being shot at scenic locations in Odisha, including the Talamali Hilltop in Koraput. The district administration is supporting the production by providing necessary assistance in Koraput's breathtaking landscapes. However, the open nature of these locations makes it difficult to control unauthorized access and filming by outsiders.
While no official complaint has been lodged yet, the makers are considering legal action to curb the leaks. The film's massive budget and global ambitions make maintaining secrecy crucial for its success. 'SSMB29
' is planned as a two-part release, with the first installment expected in 2027 and the second in 2029. The project is rumored to feature Mahesh Babu in a role inspired by Lord Hanuman, with
Priyanka Chopra and Prithviraj Sukumaran also part of the cast.
The film is set in the 1800s and will be a grand jungle thriller inspired by the 'Indiana Jones' series. The budget is estimated to be around Rs 1000 crore, making it one of the most expensive Indian films ever produced.
