When splitsville doesn't necessarily mean the end

When Kourtney Kardashian posted a rather risqu' picture online, wishing her former partner Scott Disick happy birthday, she certainly raised eyebrows for her choice of photo. Seen straddling him wearing just a bikini, the reality star wished her 'baby daddy', as she often refers to him as, a happy birthday.
The former couple, who dated for nine years, and have three children together ' Mason, Penelope and Reign ' have had a chequered history. Scott's rehab stays, constant partying and cheating rumours, and Kourtney's reluctance to get married eventually led to the demise of the relationship. The two, however, remain on good terms with Scott continuing to be a part of the famous Kardashian reality show. So amiable are the two that Kourtney's entire family partied with Scott to bring in his 33rd birthday. Orlando Bloom and Miranda Kerr
Together since 2007, Orlando and Miranda announced their separation in 2013, after being married for three years. Parents to five-year-old son Flynn, the two went on to date different people over the years but are often seen together in New York on happy family trips. Once asked to describe their relationship post the divorce and Orlando is reported to have said, 'We're not friends. We're family.'
Chris Martin and Gwyneth Paltrow
One of the most biggest splits in recent years, Chris Martin and Gwyneth Paltrow decided to 'consciously uncouple' after over a decade of marriage. Parents to Apple and Moses, the former couple continue to be on friendly terms, with Gwyneth even flying the kids to Barcelona last week to watch their famous father perform live in concert. 'We're still very much a family, even though we don't have a romantic relationship. He's like my brother,' said the actress in an interview earlier this year.
Mike Comrie and Hilary Duff
Splitting in early 2014 after just three years of marriage, Mike and Hilary are parents to three-year-old Luca and continue to be spotted together on family outings. So comfortable are the two in each other's presence that there were even rumours of a possible reconciliation. However, the couple says that there is no possibility of them getting back together. 'We have such a great kid. And we're both so obsessed with him. We are good friends and we laugh a lot. And we have a great communication and share pictures when one is not with Luca. He's great, we are great, and we keep on trucking,' said Hilary when asked about her ex husband.
Michael C Hall and Jennifer Carpenter
After getting together on the sets of Dexter, Michael and Jennifer walked down the aisle in 2008 only to get divorced late 2011. The pair, however, continued to remain in touch and were often seen hanging out together especially on the sets of their show, which continued till 2013. In an interview Jennifer is reported to have said, 'He is and always will be one of my best friends in the world. And just because the marriage ended doesn't mean the love isn't still there.'
Matthew Bellamy and Kate Hudson
Although Matthew and Kate split in December 2014 after a three-year engagement, they continue to go on family vacations together with their four-year-old son Bingham. In spite of going their separate ways, the former couple remain close friends and share parenting duties.
David Arquette and Courteney Cox

Bruce Willis and Demi Moore: Although Bruce and Demi divorced back in 2000, they did not let their split get in the way of being good parents to their three daughters ' Rumer, Scout and Tallulah. Bruce even attended Demi's nuptials to Ashton Kutcher in 2005 and supported her when the marriage broke down and she entered rehab. The exes often attend their daughters' performances together.
Ryan Phillippe and Reese Witherspoon: Although the two divorced in 2007, they continue to be seen together attending their children Ava and Deacon's birthday parties, school events and family functions. 'We've done a really good job at keeping things peaceable and completely focused on our kids,' Ryan is reported to have said in an interview once.
Seal and Heidi Klum: Although the two didn't exactly have the most amicable of breakups with Seal accusing his ex wife of 'fornicating with the help', it seems that the ex couple are on better terms now. With three kids between them, Seal and Heidi have often been spotted attending school games and being cordial with each other.
Lamar Odom and Khloe Kardashian:
Although the couple filed for divorce after cheating allegations against Lamar surfaced, Khloe rushed to be by his side when the former basketball player overdosed and got seriously unwell. She is said to have nursed him back to health but has reportedly filed for divorce again.
Caitlyn Jenner and Kris Jenner:
When Bruce Jenner decided to become Caitlyn Jenner, Kris, his wife of over two decades naturally did not take the news too well. However, as time passed, she has publicly said that she respects Caitlyn for her courage while transitioning and the two are often seen together on family outings.
Marc Anthony and Jennifer Lopez: Although the split was not very amicable, the two have put their differences aside and have managed to stay on friendly terms for the sake of their seven-year-old twins Max and Emme; even coming together to celebrate their birthdays.
